All through the house...

My Christmas Spirit has finally shown up.
Sharing a bit of it with you...and hoping you all enjoy a beautiful holiday with the people who mean the most to you.

  1. I have a story to tell. Bryan wasn’t much into Christmas dishes and since it was his kitchen, and he did all the cooking, I was okay with that! [Excellent compromise in my opinion.]

Anyway, I decided that this year I’d see if I could find a set of salad/luncheon sized plates with some festive decorations to use with Bryan's cobalt blue fiestaware. So off I go to Elder-Beerman…my favorite place to shop.

So I’m browsing at all the pretties when I step around a display and there it is: the perfect plate. The colors go together, it’s festive, and best of all it has a beautiful cardinal on it! Perfect…except that they only had 1 and its 5:30 the night before Christmas Eve.

I recognize the fact that it wasn’t meant to be. After getting over my disappointment, I purchased a set of beautiful Lenox dessert plates with four different birds (including my cardinal) surrounded by a lovely red bow. They looked so pretty on the cobalt fiesta plates Christmas day.

Now here’s where the story takes a twist. After the festivities were over, dishes were done, and company gone I decided to catch up on reading my email and favorite blogs (I really enjoy seeing what that gorgeous dog is up to). To my surprise, there’s Marnie’s table all decked out in my perfect plates!

Beautiful table, it just wasn’t mine…sigh…
