February? Really?

In the next few days, I will share a few old Valentine finishes with you, but between now and then, here is a new Christmas ornament finish:

Lizzie Kate "Joy"
stitched by: Annette Q
finished by: me

And my peacock candle wrapper in its new home in the B&W bedroom:

Capri blue Assisi peacock
candle wrapper

I was terribly proud of myself for hem stitching all four sides when I could have just ironed the edges down and called it quits.  All the while I was hemming it, I couldn't help thinking that some day when I'm pushing up daisies, some lucky yard sale shopper is going to think they've found the prettiest hanky they've ever seen.  I can only hope that doesn't happen!

Happy February Everybody!

Happy Independence Day!

4th of JULY.....the best holiday of the SUMMER!!! With it's fireworks and fireflies, hotdogs and hot dogs (K9s), lemonade and lemon meringue pie, need I go on? I've always had a wide patriotic streak, but many moons ago, after my first visit to Philadelphia, the Constitution Center, Independence Hall, etc, I discovered a deeper appreciation for my freedoms, my country, the servicemen and women of the armed forces, and honestly, my government. As stinky as the system can be from time to time, IMHO it beats everything else out there, hands down. So go grill something, wave the red, white and blue, thank a veteran, write your Congressman, and watch the fireworks!
For this truly is the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!

I WON!

I'm in shock! Someone get the smelling salts! HURRY! When I logged in this morning, I discovered that Tracy over at the Dancing Needle blog had selected ME as her Lizzie Kate stash give-away winner!!! That's ALL twelve months AND the charms to go with!!! I'm in heaven.

Couldn't you just die? Many many thanks to Tracy and her contribution to my ongoing love affair with L*K.

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone enjoys some lovin' or at least some heavy likin' this weekend. No stitching for me; office relocation will be taking up my entire weekend. That's ok though because my new office is just a hop, skip and a jump away from my favorit-est LNS! Darn the luck. Now, if I could just get my LNS to install an espresso station, I would be in TALL cotton! For all my non-Southern speaking friends, that means you are in a very favorable, comfortable or otherwise beneficial position or place. Feel free to impress your friends by working it into your vocabulary today! ;-D

another cube finish

Call it wishful thinking...

Isn't the ribbon a lovely match?

In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, thanks go to Hannah again for her simple yet perfect cube tutorial. Love it Hannah!

gift

What a surprise!!!!!

This was found on my bedside table this morning with a little note:

Dear Lady,

Please accept this small token of our appreciation for rescuing us

from the PIG place. We thought it was the least we could do.

Carrot, Periwinkle, Butternut Squash, and Spring Grass

Wasn't that thoughtful of them? Bless their hearts.
