Almost there...

Hello Friends!

It's been two weeks since my last post and boy have they been busy ones.   The whole month of April is very busy at work with employee appraisals (can you say "Somebody, shoot me!").   Last Saturday, my guild chapter enjoyed our annual Stitchers Day Out at a local farm.  This Saturday, I spent the better part of the day in a board meeting.  Throw in a tiny bit of house cleaning, cooking, laundry, and church and the end of April has just crept right up on me..

Progress snap:

As you can see, I'm very near the end of this piece.  I had hoped to have it wrapped up before today so I could whip out the Sampler Girl's Royal Wedding Souvenir this weekend in honor of the one year anniversary of Will and Kate's nuptials, but it will have to wait until May.  Nevertheless, here's wishing them a fabulous first anniversary!

And here's wishing you a wonderful remainder of the weekend, rain or shine...

The Rain and taxes

Here it is mid-April and I can hardly believe it!  Dad entered the hospital with pneumonia on March 3, was in intensive care for a week, step-down for a week, then transferred to a skilled nursing facility for 20 days of rehab, then discharged to come home on Good Friday.  My sister and I made tracks back and forth every day.  Some days we were with him all day, some days we just visited after work to make sure he knew we were keeping an eye on things.  He is extremely pleased to be back home and feeling better than he has in years.  Sis and I, on the other hand, could use a vacation!

Since Easter, I've managed to slip a few stitches in The Rain Fell...

I can't remember the exact color of the linen, but I'm loving it.  The colors of the piece really pop against the soft blue of the linen.

Today, I wish I was doing nothing but stitching more on this piece and kitting up another April piece I'd like to complete this month, but my house is in desperate need of a good spring cleaning.  And then there is the tax return that isn't going to file itself.

Here's hoping you have a wonderful mid-April weekend, friends!

Wisteria Lane

The wisteria has taken over the hillside where I live and the aroma is intoxicating.  I couldn't help but take the camera for a long walk tonight and try to capture some of the beauty of it...

I haven't made enough progress on "The Rain Fell" to warrant an update pic.  Maybe I'll sneek in a few stitches after dinner on Sunday.

If you are still looking for a fabulous Easter dessert, you might want to give this one a go.  I whipped it together in a jiffy last night and it was spectacular!

(save some time and use store bought lemon curd and cool whip!)

Have a BLESSED weekend, friends!

Hi All!  What a beautiful Palm Sunday we've had here in my neck of the woods!

Here's hoping you all find time to experience the joy of Easter this upcoming week.
